Wellbeing
At our school, student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. Wellbeing shapes how students experience school - through feeling connected, achieving meaningful goals, building positive relationships, enjoying learning, growing personally, and feeling healthy and supported. Our school is a place where young people should feel safe, included, and ready to learn.
We support our students to thrive in both school and daily life by catering to their social, emotional, physical, cognitive and spiritual wellbeing needs.
How we support student wellbeing
Supporting the whole child is part of everyday school life. Our approach ensures students feel a strong sense of connection, inclusion, respect and empowerment, and are equipped to positively shape their futures.
We do this through:
- staff who build strong, respectful relationships and help students feel welcome, valued and included
- access to school counsellors, psychologists and specialist staff who provide personalised support
- preventative and intervention programs that promote health, pro-social skills, resilience, attendance and positive behaviour
- support for students who are new, transitioning at key educational points or adjusting to change
- clear expectations for behaviour and respectful relationships, helping students feel safe and confident
- getting to know each child, understanding their strengths and needs, and work closely with families
- student health and support planning, ensuring individual needs are recognised and addressed
- open communication between parents/carers, staff and students, so everyone works together to support wellbeing.
